COMPARISON

Clarity is free. Here's the honest line.

Microsoft Clarity gives you session replays and heatmaps for nothing, and it's genuinely good at that. If watching sessions is all you need, use Clarity — we'd rather say it here than have you find out after paying us. logcohort exists for what happens after you spot the friction.

The dead end, concretely

You watch a Clarity replay: the visitor clicks "Pay now" five times, nothing happens, they leave. Now what? The replay can't tell you the request behind that button returned a 402, or that the console threw CheckoutError. So you file "user seems stuck, can't reproduce" — and your engineer shrugs. That's the structural gap in every free replay tool, and it's the one thing we built around.

What maps to what

In ClarityIn logcohort
Session recordingsSession replay — hardened for SPAs, iframes, shadow DOM, canvas/media
Rage click / dead click flagsFrustration signals: rage clicks, dead clicks, and error clicks — filterable across sessions
Filtering recordingsCross-session search: free text over URLs, errors, and clicked elements, plus frustration/duration filters
— (no equivalent)Console output, network requests, and errors on the replay timeline — deep-link the exact second and send it; the engineer sees the failing request without reproducing anything
— (no equivalent)Revocable share links — anyone with the link watches that one replay, no account needed

What Clarity has that we don't

What it costs

Free up to 1,000 sessions/month — enough to genuinely evaluate, not a teaser. Then $29/month for 10,000. Every feature on every plan, unlimited seats and projects; hitting a cap pauses recording, it never creates an invoice. Full pricing. The $29 buys one thing Clarity structurally can't offer: replays your engineers act on the same day.
